Borno State Governor, Babagana Zulum, paid a sympathy visit to Ngoshe community, Gwoza local government, after a recent Boko Haram attack left scores killed and others abducted. Addressing the community in Pulka, Zulum assured them that efforts are on to rescue abducted residents, restore security, and provide humanitarian support to them.
Zulum stated that military operations are ongoing in Sambisa Forest and Mandara Hills to rid the area of insurgents. He called on the Nigerian Army to intensify efforts to clear Mandara Hills, which he described as a major security concern. The governor said that the state government has begun distributing relief materials and establishing cooking points to provide food for displaced residents.
He appealed to residents to remain calm and law-abiding, vowing to double efforts to end insurgency in the state.
The Governor also inspected houses burnt by insurgents in Konduga town, reiterating the government's commitment to restoring peace and stability in the state.
