Nigerian superstar Wizkid (Ayodeji Balogun) has just etched his name even deeper into music history, becoming the first African artiste to surpass 11 billion total streams on Spotify across all credits.

According to cbinews.tv, the milestone was confirmed on Tuesday via music data handle #ChaftsAfrica on X, which highlighted Wizkid’s steady climb through every major streaming landmark — from 1 billion right up to this latest 11 billion achievement.

The post summed it up neatly:

And the timing couldn’t be more fitting. This record-breaking moment comes shortly after the release of his collaboration with DJ Tunez, State of Mind (dropped 15 May 2026), which pulled in over 685,000 global Spotify streams in its first day alone.
