A wave of sorrow has hit Nigerian football as Wikki Tourists FC confirm the heartbreaking loss of defender Kabiru Mohammed following a fatal road accident on the Zaria–Gusau highway.

According to a report by cbinews.tv, Wikki Tourists FC have announced the sudden passing of their defender, Kabiru Mohammed, after he was involved in a tragic auto crash along the Zaria–Gusau road.

The club shared the devastating news via an official statement on their Facebook page on Thursday, describing the incident as a huge loss to the team and the wider football community.

“The club is deeply saddened to announce the tragic death of Mohammed following a fatal accident along the Zaria–Gusau road,” the statement read.

Mohammed had only recently joined Wikki Tourists from Lobi Stars FC during the ongoing 2025/2026 Nigeria Premier Football League season. Despite his short time at the club, he quickly became an important figure in the defensive line.

He was widely respected for his discipline, commitment, and clear passion for the game—qualities that earned him admiration from teammates, coaches, and fans alike.

His final appearance for the club came during the President’s Federation Cup clash against Jigawa Golden Stars Junior Team at Nasara Stadium, Kofar Doka, Zaria, on Tuesday, 19 May 2026.
