You forge land documents in Abuja? Wike says bulldozers are waiting.
As reported by cbinews.tv, FCT Minister Nyesom Wike isn’t playing games with land grabbers in Abuja. On Tuesday, he sent a blunt warning to anyone forging documents and illegally developing property: *pack it up, because it’s coming down*.
Speaking at the day 10 flag-off ceremony for the Southern Parkway service carriageways — that’s the stretch from Arterial Road S20 (Oladipo Diya way) to Ring Road II — Wike didn’t mince words. He called out the Acting Director of Development Control directly, and honestly, it was a bit awkward because the guy wasn’t even there.
Wike’s message was clear: “Luckily, he is acting and not the Director yet; I have the capacity not to make him the Director and if he likes, he should call on workers to embark on strike.” Translation? Show up for your job or lose it. He made it personal — approval for that Directorship sits with him.
But the real heat was for the land grabbers. Wike said they’ve noticed a pattern: every time a major construction project kicks off, people pop up with dodgy paperwork claiming land that was never allocated to them. His response?
“Send this message to him that all these land grabbers who have started to develop lands that are not given to them, he should go and bring all down. Heaven will not fall, rather heaven will be at peace when things are done properly.”
He’s ordered the Acting Director of Development Control to work with the director of land and start pulling down structures built on unallocated plots. No more “it’s too late now” excuses. If you didn’t get the land legally, Wike says it’s “in vain, we will bring it down.”
The bottom line from cbinews.tv: Wike is doubling down on order in the FCT. Forge documents, build illegally, and expect a visit from the bulldozers.
