Wike says only candidates backing Tinubu will get his support.....
Federal Capital Territory Minister Nyesom Wike said he would support only candidates aligned with President Bola Tinubu’s agenda in the Feb. 21 FCT Area Council elections, regardless of their political party.
Wike made the remarks on Saturday in Abuja during the 60th birthday celebration of Senator Sandy Onor.
He described his stance as a duty tied to his support for the president’s vision.
“We have the FCT Area Council election coming up on February 21, and I have a duty to support any candidatewhot supports President Tinubu to win,” Wike said.
“It is also my duty to ensure that any candidate who is not supporting Tinubu does not win in the election, and I owe no apology for my stand,” he added.
The minister reiterated that he had no regrets backing Tinubu and affirmed his readiness to throw his weight behind aspirants who promote the president’s agenda in the local council polls.
