Blessing CEO explains her refusal to release medical records online...
Relationship expert and social media influencer, Blessing CEO, has responded to critics demanding proof of her reported illness, explaining why she will not publish her medical test results on social media.
CBI News reports that Blessing made the clarification in a video shared on her Instagram page, following doubts expressed by some social media users about her claim of battling stage four breast cancer.
The influencer said her medical reports are technical documents that require professional interpretation, insisting that most people online would not understand the details contained in them.
According to her, only trained medical experts are qualified to analyse such results.
“I can’t put my result on social media because a lot of you cannot make a meaning out of it. Only medical doctors can,” she said.
She added that some of her close associates had already forwarded the medical results to experts outside Nigeria for further professional evaluation.
Blessing also stated that she is willing to present the medical documents privately to credible individuals who may request them.
However, she maintained that releasing them publicly would not serve any useful purpose.
“I don’t need multiple analyses. If you want the result or if someone prominent reaches out, I am going to share all the evidence,” she added.
Addressing claims that her revelation was aimed at seeking financial assistance, Blessing insisted that her decision to speak about her health condition was not motivated by money.
According to her, the purpose of sharing the news was to open up about her personal struggles and receive emotional support.
“The aim was not to beg for money. I was completely clueless because I didn’t know anything about cancer,” she said.
Blessing further revealed that she initially struggled to understand the diagnosis because she had little knowledge about the disease.
She said the situation left her confused and emotionally overwhelmed.
According to her, it was close friends who encouraged her to speak publicly about her condition instead of dealing with the situation alone.
“The goal was to be vulnerable, not to beg Nigerians for money. A lot of my followers have been with me since I started social media and have become closer than family,” she said.
“I broke down, and I posted because my friends insisted that I could not do this alone.”
