It’s a grim milestone no one wanted to hit — more than 1,000 lives lost to Ebola in just a few months.
Here’s the latest:
The Ebola outbreak first declared in mid-May has turned incredibly deadly, with over 1,000 fatalities now recorded across the Democratic Republic of Congo and Uganda.
According to a fresh overview published by the World Health Organization on Wednesday, nearly 2,500 cases of the virus have been confirmed so far.
The breakdown is heartbreaking — 999 confirmed deaths in the DRC and two in Uganda, based on official figures from both countries.
Health officials are still monitoring the situation closely, and more updates are expected soon.
