Protesters condemned the attack on Minab School....
Hundreds marched through the city of Vienna on Saturday March 14 2026 in a show of solidarity with Tehran.
They called for an end to the US-Israeli attacks on Iran. They also mourned the schoolgirls killed in an airstrike on Minab.
Images showed demonstrators with banners and signs which read, 'down with USA' and 'stop bombing Iran', alongside portraits of the late Iranian leader, Ali Khamenei.
The Protesters also held a vigil for the victims of the Minab school strike, which killed at least dozens of children.
"The slaughter of the people of Iran has to stop," one protester urged. "Look at the over 160 schoolgirls who were slaughtered on the first day, yeah, and it's still continuing."
Iranian media said that around 170 people were killed in the strike on February 28. US President Donald Trump blamed Iran for the strike while War Secretary Pete Hegseth suggested investigations were ongoing.
Iran blamed the US and Israel but Israel claimed it was 'not aware' of operations in the area, and the US said it looked into the incident- but denied it targeted civilians. US media reports put the intended target as a nearby naval base.
Demonstrators urged all sides to stop the fighting.
"This war is very, very dangerous, because it risks that we are dragged into a Third World War, and we don't want this Third World War. It's an aggression, it is fully against international law," one emphasised.
"You can't defeat a nation that is willing to die for their country, for their beliefs. So if Donald Trump thinks that he's going to go and succeed there, I have no words for that," another commented.
Tensions escalated in the Middle East after the United States and Israel launched joint military operations against Iran on February 28, 2026. President Trump at the time said they would "raze their missile industry to the ground".
Tehran said it responded with strikes on Israel and US assets in the region, with explosions reported in countries right across the Gulf region.
Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei was confirmed dead in a strike on the first day. His son, Mojtaba Khamenei, was selected as his successor. Meanwhile, Trump said the new Iranian supreme leader would 'not stay for long' if elected without US consent.
