If you're writing UNILAG's Post-UTME this year, listen up - the university has just dropped some very strict rules, and you do NOT want to get caught out.
Heads up, future Akokites! The University of Lagos has confirmed that its 2026/2027 Post-UTME Aptitude Test will hold from July 27th to July 31st, and this time it's strictly online and remotely proctored.
According to a statement issued on Tuesday by the Registrar and Secretary to Council, Mrs Abosede Wickliffe, as reported by cbinews.tv, the university is taking zero chances with exam malpractice.
So what do you actually need to know?
The Non-Negotiables:
You must use a laptop with a built-in webcam and microphone. That's it. No phones, no tablets, no external webcams, no smart glasses, no headphones. If it's not your laptop's built-in camera and mic, it's not allowed.
You also have to be completely alone in a quiet, well-lit room for the entire 30-minute test. No whispering, no reading questions out loud, and definitely no one popping in to "check on you" - UNILAG says that counts as misconduct and could get you disqualified.
Tech Prep is on YOU:
The university was very clear: ensure you have stable internet and a steady power supply. They won't be held responsible for network glitches or NEPA taking the light during your test. If anything goes wrong mid-exam, click the "Need Help?" button on the exam platform immediately.
Speaking of prep, there's a compulsory mock exam available until July 25th. Don't skip it. It's there to test if your laptop, internet, and webcam are actually ready. And make sure your system is running Windows 10 or later, or macOS Ventura or later, because the Safe Examination Browser won't work on anything older.
Pro tip from the registrar: Use the same laptop, internet and room for both the mock and the main exam.
Money and Scam Alert:
The approved fee is still ₦5,500 total - that's ₦2,000 for application and ₦3,500 for admin charges. Nothing more.
And please, don't let anyone scam you. UNILAG warns candidates not to patronise cybercafés, business centres or any CBT centre claiming to be affiliated with them. The test is to be written from a location of YOUR choice, not a special centre. Get all your info only from UNILAG's official website.
Bottom line? No fraud, no impersonation, no "help" from anyone else. Any form of malpractice could lead to your application or result being cancelled outright, and all decisions on the test are final.
