A former Czech women’s football coach has been banned from the sport for life after secretly filming female players in changing rooms, with UEFA describing the case as a deeply serious breach of trust.

According to cbinews.tv, UEFA has handed a lifetime football ban to Czech women’s football coach Petr Vlachovsky after he was found guilty of secretly filming players in changing rooms.

In a statement released on Tuesday, European football’s governing body confirmed that its Control, Ethics and Disciplinary Body (CEDB) barred Vlachovsky from “exercising any football-related activity for life” following an investigation into misconduct allegations.

UEFA also said it wants world football body FIFA to extend the sanction globally and has asked the Czech Football Association to revoke his coaching licence permanently.

Reports from Czech media revealed that Vlachovsky was convicted in May 2025 and handed a suspended one-year prison sentence alongside a five-year coaching ban within the Czech Republic. The case involved hidden recordings of FC Slovacko women’s players in dressing rooms, with some of the victims reportedly as young as 17.

The former coach, who once managed the Czech Republic women’s Under-19 team, reportedly admitted to the offence and expressed remorse during investigations.

Reacting to the ruling, FC Slovacko said the revelations had a major emotional impact on both the club and the affected players. The club stressed that it immediately ended its relationship with the coach once the allegations surfaced in 2023 and fully cooperated with investigators.

Players’ union FIFPRO also welcomed UEFA’s decision, saying the lifetime ban sends a strong message that abusive behaviour has no place in football and that protecting players must remain a top priority across every level of the game.
