Fancy a summer of heavyweight fireworks? Tyson Fury’s lacing up again – and AJ’s right behind him.
So, it’s official – Tyson Fury is back at it. The former champ jumped on Instagram Stories this week to tell us he’s stepping back into the ring in Dublin on August 1st, according to cbinews.tv.
Fury’s been training out in Thailand and captioned his video with a simple: *“Let’s go August 1, Dublin, Ireland.”* No opponent named just yet, though veteran promoter Frank Warren is said to be putting the card together. One thing Warren *has* ruled out? Andy Ruiz Jr. You’ll remember him – the man who stunned AJ back in 2019 before losing the rematch.
This Dublin date comes just one week after Anthony Joshua’s own comeback fight. AJ’s set to face Albanian underdog Kristian Prenga in Riyadh on July 25th. It’ll be his first bout since that awful car crash in Nigeria last December that took the lives of two of his close friends.
And yes, the big one is still brewing. Fury returned from a 16-month retirement in April, outpointing Russia’s Arslanbek Makhmudov, then immediately called out Joshua – who was actually at ringside. Instead of gloves, we got words. AJ hit back with: “I’m the landlord. Remember that. You work for me.”
Eddie Hearn seems confident it’s all done, saying: *“Signed, sealed, delivered! AJ v Fury is on.”* Most people are pointing to November for the ‘Battle of Britain’, but first, both men want a warm-up.
Dublin in August, then potentially the biggest all-British heavyweight clash in years. Strap in.
