Well, that’s a big no from the top court. Trump’s plan to end birthright citizenship just hit a brick wall.
So, here’s the gist, according to cbinews.tv — the US Supreme Court has just thrown out Donald Trump’s order to end birthright citizenship for anyone born on American soil.
It’s a massive setback for Trump and his whole push to overhaul immigration in the States.
Quick rewind: the moment he stepped back into office on 20 January 2025, he signed an executive order trying to stop kids born in the US to parents on temporary visas or without documentation from automatically getting US citizenship.
But the nine judges weren’t having it. The Supreme Court backed the lower court’s view that Trump’s order goes against the US Constitution and flies in the face of a previous Supreme Court decision on the same issue.
More updates to come, as reported by cbinews.tv.
