Bodyguards withdrawn as Harris prepares for public return with upcoming memoir tour.

The Trump administration has withdrawn former U.S. vice president Kamala Harris’s Secret Service protection, a White House official confirmed Friday.

According to CNN, the move terminates an extension granted by former president Joe Biden, which allowed Harris to retain security beyond the standard six-month period that ended on July 21.

CBI News reports that a senior aide to Harris told AFP that she was “grateful to the United States Secret Service for their professionalism, dedication, and unwavering commitment to safety.”

Harris, who has kept a relatively low profile since her election defeat, is expected to return to the public spotlight this fall as she embarks on a nationwide tour to promote her upcoming memoir, 107 Days.

The book, set for release on September 23 by Simon & Schuster, offers what Harris describes as a candid “behind-the-scenes account” of her short presidential run against Trump.

Harris became the Democratic nominee after Biden stepped aside amid concerns about his cognitive health, ultimately losing to Trump in the 2024 election.

Since taking office in January, Trump has rolled back protections and privileges for several political rivals.

CBI News reports that he has revoked security clearances for former officials, cut federal funding to some universities, and targeted law firms that previously opposed him.

Just last week, FBI agents raided the home and office of former national security adviser John Bolton, one of Trump’s most vocal critics, as part of an investigation reportedly tied to classified documents.
