President Tinubu, who arrived in Lagos ahead of the celebrations, is expected to host Muslim leaders and other stakeholders as the Eid festivities continue...
President Bola Tinubu joined hundreds of Muslim faithful at the Dodan Barracks prayer ground in Ikoyi, Lagos, to mark this year’s Eid-el-Fitr, signalling the end of the holy month of Ramadan.
The President, accompanied by Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu and other top government officials, described the season as a time for deep spiritual reflection, sacrifice, and renewed devotion to God.
Speaking with journalists after the prayers, Tinubu urged Muslims to uphold the values of discipline, patience, and self-denial learnt during Ramadan, stressing that these virtues are essential for national unity and development.
The President also spoke on his recent visit to the United Kingdom, describing the reception by King Charles the Third and Queen Camilla as a reflection of Nigeria’s growing importance in the global economy.
The Grand Chief Imam of Lagos State, Alhaji Sulaiman Oluwatoyin Abou-Nolla, however called on the Muslim Ummah to sustain the virtues of piety, peace, and brotherhood beyond Ramadan, despite prevailing global challenges.
