Nigeria's President returns to the country after state visits to Asia and South America
President Bola Tinubu has returned to Nigeria after diplomatic visits to Japan and Brazil.
Tinubu attended the ninth Tokyo International Conference on African Development (TICAD9) in Yokohama, where he also held bilateral meetings and met members of the Nigerian community.
CBI News reports that he later proceeded to Brazil, meeting with President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva.
Both leaders held private talks and witnessed the signing of five Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) covering aviation, foreign affairs, science and technology, and agriculture.
Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, confirmed Tinubu’s arrival in a statement on 𝕏. He wrote: “President Tinubu returned to Abuja early on Thursday following trips to Japan and Brazil.”
A host of dignitaries and government officials welcomed him on arrival.
