He's back!

President Bola Tinubu touched down at the Presidential Wing of the Murtala Muhammed International Airport in Lagos at about 6:22 p.m. tonight, after four weeks away in Europe.

And Nigerians definitely noticed he was gone.

As reported by cbinews.tv, the President left on August 30th for London to begin what the Presidency called his annual leave, before heading to Paris where he held talks with French President Emmanuel Macron.

For many Nigerians back home juggling fuel costs, food prices and the daily grind, a month-long working vacation abroad feels very distant. Opposition voices like Dino Melaye even mocked it, saying the President was "expected to visit Nigeria next week".

The Presidency insists he was still working - hence "working vacation" - with Vice President Shettima representing Nigeria at the UN General Assembly. But it sparked constitutional questions about who is really in charge when the President is away for that long.

This isn't new. Nigerian leaders have long faced scrutiny over medical and working trips to London and Paris. What makes this one different is the timing.

Tinubu isn't just back for rest. He's landed just in time for Nigeria's big moment - the 66th Independence Anniversary on October 1st, which he'll mark in Lagos before heading back to Abuja at the weekend.

All eyes now on what he does in his first 72 hours back - Cabinet, economy, and that Independence Day speech.
