Tinubu appoints Ibrahim Ida as CAC chairman and nominates seven NPC commissioners.
President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has appointed Ibrahim Ida as Chairman of the Corporate Affairs Commission and nominated seven individuals as Federal Commissioners of the National Population Commission.
According to a State House statement issued on March 30, 2026, Ida, a former senator who represented Katsina Central in 2017, holds an MSc in Banking and Finance from the University of Ibadan and an LLB from the University of Abuja. He previously served as Commissioner of Finance in Katsina State and as a Permanent Secretary in the Federal Civil Service.
CBI News reports that the seven nominees for the National Population Commission are Kolawole Oladipupo Alabi (Ekiti), Nasiru Mu’azu (Zamfara), Usman Abubakar Tuggar (Bauchi), Dr. Isaka Alada Yahaya (Kwara), Prof. Sadiq Isah Radda (Katsina), Suleiman Umar (Jigawa), and Hon. Chiso Abdullahi Dattijo (Sokoto). Their appointments are subject to confirmation by the National Assembly.
The Nigerian President also appointed Yusuf Mohammed as Chairman of the Federal Polytechnic, Kaltungo.
In addition, Bala Mohammed Bello has been confirmed as Special Adviser to the President on Political Economy.
Bello, who hails from Taraba State, holds a degree in Accounting and an MBA from Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria.
He previously served as Deputy Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria and as Executive Director (Corporate Services) at the Nigerian Export-Import Bank between 2017 and 2022.
President Tinubu expressed confidence in the appointees, stating that they have the capacity to contribute meaningfully to his administration’s goal of improving the welfare of Nigerians.
