Five-year driving ban and a stark warning from the judge, "drive again and you go straight back to jail", as Tiger Woods faces the fallout from his March crash in Florida.

Well, this is a big one. Golf legend Tiger Woods has pleaded guilty to careless and reckless driving following that nasty rollover crash back in March, according to a report from cbinews.tv.

Appearing at the Martin County Courthouse in Stuart, Florida on Wednesday, the 15-time major champion was told in no uncertain terms by Judge Darren Steele: “If you were to drive for any reason at all you would go immediately back to jail.”

His licence has now been suspended for five years.

As reported by cbinews.tv, Woods was initially facing a more serious charge of driving under the influence, but that was dropped as part of a plea deal where he agreed to plead guilty to the lesser charges.

The incident itself happened on 27th March, when his vehicle reportedly clipped a truck pulling a trailer and flipped onto its side whilst he was attempting to overtake on a residential road.

Authorities said Woods had not been drinking, but appeared to be impaired at the scene. It was also reported that he had two pills containing the opioid painkiller hydrocodone in his pocket and refused a urine analysis before being charged, jailed and later released on bond.

cbinews.tv also reports that since the crash, Woods, who has already undergone multiple back operations and surgeries for severe leg injuries sustained in his 2021 California crash, has travelled outside the US for treatment at an inpatient facility, reportedly in Switzerland.
