Thousands of people in Srinagar, Jammu and Kashmir, took part in a noisy and emotion-filled rally on Wednesday, February 5, 2026,, on the birth anniversary of Imam Mehdi.
They chanted anti-US and anti-Israel slogans.
Footage showed the massive procession, which began in Mirgund and finished in Bermina, 30 km away. It comprised men, women, and children, many shouted slogans and pumped their fists in the air.
Participants expressed their belief that Imam Mehdi, upon his reappearance, brought justice to all communities worldwide and liberated humanity from the oppression imposed by powerful forces.
Considered a descendant of the Prophet Muhammad, Imam Mehdi is a prophesied messianic figure in Islam.
He is believed to have emerged at the end of time and eliminated injustice and tyranny.
Mehdi reportedly established a peaceful and just society.
The rally served not only as a religious observance but also as a call against tyranny.
It resonated deeply with the struggles of oppressed people globally, particularly the tensions with the US and Iran.
Protester Sania stated, "The procession gives hope to our Supreme Leader Ayatollah Khamenei. We are with you; do not be disappointed. If you want to act against our Supreme Leader, you must first confront us."
Cleric Molana Irfan remarked, "Imam Mehdi will appear for all humanity, delivering justice and liberating us from the oppressive forces that impose themselves upon people."
During the rally, participants carried anti-US posters and raised slogans expressing support for Iran and Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.
