Rallies held in cities to mark anniversary....
Iranian youth took part in festive marches across Tehran on Wednesday February 11, as the country marked the 47th anniversary of the Islamic Revolution.
Demonstrators walked through city streets, waved flags and chanted slogans.
"We are here to support our Leader and to tell our enemies that we are ready to shed our blood, not surrender our country. In any situation, we will stand by our nation and our Leader," a demonstrator said.
"Some say only the elderly take part in these rallies. Honestly, all of us young people, our friends, everyone, came because of the Leader and this revolution," another added.
Mass rallies were held in several Iranian cities which commemorated the anniversary of the 1979 Islamic Revolution, which followed widespread protests against the Shah's regime.
The protest led to the fall of the Pahlavi dynasty and the establishment of the Islamic Republic.
This year's anniversary comes amid heightened regional tensions, including increased US military deployments and speculation over a possible confrontation with Iran.
