T2 Moves to Improve Network Infrastructure

The Telco has been expressing a Network issue, which has led to a loss of subscribers.

T2, formerly 9mobile, has entered a multi-million dollar strategic partnership with Huawei to modernise its core network infrastructure, a milestone the firm says signals its bold re-entry into Nigeria’s telecom sector.

T2 said the agreement was sealed with Obafemi Banigbe, CEO of T2mobile, and Constantine Jiang, MD of Carrier Business Group of Huawei Nigeria.

The firm said the agreement is a powerful symbol of its shared vision to transform connectivity in Nigeria.

T2 said the deal forms part of its four-phase strategic roadmap: Stabilisation, Modernisation, Transformation, and Growth, all aimed at restoring the company’s competitiveness and positioning it for long-term growth.

T2 Records First Subscribers Gain since 2023

T2 gained 290,601 new users in July 2025, raising its active subscriber base to 2.7 million.

T2 subscribers had dropped to 2.4 million by mid-2025 from over 22 million in 2015.

CBI News reports that MTN, Airtel, and Globacom lost users in July, T2 was the only operator to record gains.
