From youth-team grafter to the most decorated boss in Spanish history, Luis de la Fuente isn't going anywhere.

Big news out of Las Rozas! World Cup-winning coach Luis de la Fuente has just signed on until 2032.

The RFEF confirmed it on Monday, and what a deal it is. The 65-year-old will now lead La Roja through not one, but two Euros in 2028 and 2032, plus the 2030 World Cup on home soil.

And honestly, can you blame them?

De la Fuente took over from Luis Enrique back in 2022 with a lot of doubters. Fast forward, and he's delivered the full set: the Nations League in 2023, Euros in 2024, and then that World Cup triumph in July.

This is a man who spent a decade quietly coaching Spain's U19S and U21S. No big-club ego, just pure development. He knows this squad because he literally raised half of them.

As FA chair Rafael Louzan put it, he's now "the most successful head coach in the history of the national team." After 14 years with the federation, he deserves the long-term future.

This is Spain choosing stability over superstars. While other nations chase big-name managers, Spain are backing their own model, continuity, youth trust, and proper Spanish identity. It's a huge statement ahead of a home World Cup in 2030.

Historically, Spain struggled with long-term planning post-2012. This contract ends that cycle. It's the longest national team deal in their modern history.

Next up? A real test. Spain face England at Wembley on September 26th in their first game as world champions, then host Croatia in Seville three days later to kick off their Nations League defence. They'll finish the window against the Czech Republic and Croatia again.
