Human rights activist Omoyele Sowore has criticised the bail conditions handed to social media influencer JusticeCrack, insisting the case should never have made it to court in the first place.
Human rights activist Omoyele Sowore has described the bail conditions granted to social media influencer Chidiebere Mark, popularly known as JusticeCrack, as “ridiculous”, cbinews.tv reports.
Speaking after the court proceedings, Sowore said supporters and rights advocates had originally demanded that the Ministry of Justice discontinue the case entirely, arguing that the allegations against JusticeCrack were baseless from the start.
According to him, the strict bail conditions imposed on the influencer raise fresh concerns about freedom of expression and how social media commentators are being treated in Nigeria.
Sowore also gave an update on the ongoing case involving himself, the Federal Government and X, formerly known as Twitter.
He disclosed that his legal team has formally requested that the trial judge, Justice Muhammed Umar, step aside from the matter.
Sowore claimed the request followed an earlier courtroom incident in which the judge allegedly ordered one of his lawyers to kneel during proceedings.
The development has continued to spark reactions among rights activists and members of the public, with many closely watching for the court’s next move.
