Virginia makeup artist Renee Baldwin fatally shot by son in Arlington apartment.
A well-known television hair and makeup artist was shot dead by her son at her Arlington, Virginia, apartment on Sunday, August 17, authorities said.
CBI News reports that the victim, Travis Renee Baldwin, 57, was allegedly shot by her 27-year-old son, Logan Chrisinger, just before 8:30 a.m.
She was rushed to a nearby hospital but later died from her injuries, according to officials.
Chrisinger remained at the scene and was arrested.
He is being held without bond at the Arlington County Detention Facility.
Baldwin was a longtime television professional who most recently worked at Newsmax, where she provided makeup services for anchors, including Greta Van Susteren.
“What a sadness… my Newsmax make up artist of 3 ½ years, and years at @ABC @ESPN etc and a friend to all her colleagues… was murdered over the weekend,” Van Susteren wrote on X.
“She did my make up Friday for the show and of course I never dreamed that would be the last time I would see her.”
Newsmax White House producer Marisela Ramirez also paid tribute, calling Baldwin “Heaven’s newest angel.”
“Renee had a giving heart and a gypsy spirit but really she was a quiet warrior, supporting her family and carrying the weight of a household on her shoulders without complaints,” Ramirez wrote.
CBI News reports that she added that Baldwin was known for her warmth and compassion, often comforting clients by gently playing with their hair while listening to their struggles.
Baldwin’s death has shocked colleagues across the television industry, where she was widely respected for her professionalism and kindness.
