It’s a new chapter in Anambra State politics as Governor Soludo reshuffles his cabinet, charging his new commissioners to hit the ground running and put service above celebration.
Cbinews reports that Anambra State Governor, Chukwuma Soludo, has officially sworn in 18 newly cleared commissioners after their screening by the State House of Assembly, setting the tone for what he calls a refreshed and more focused administration.
The ceremony took place at the Executive Council Chambers of the newly commissioned Government House, popularly known as the *Light House*, in Awka.
Speaking to the new appointees, Soludo made it clear that the job ahead is not about ceremony or titles, but serious governance, sacrifice, and accountability to the people of Anambra.
He reminded them that their decisions will directly affect millions of residents across the state, urging them to prioritise efficiency, teamwork, and prudence in their various ministries.
“I charge you to run your respective ministries with a high level of prudence and synergy. I formally welcome you to the reconstituted State Executive Council, which I like to refer to as ‘Team Solution 2.0’,” he said.
Among the newly sworn-in commissioners are Ben Odoemena (Agriculture), Chukwukadibia Okoye (Budget and Economic Planning), Udoji Amedu (Culture, Entertainment and Tourism), and Ekene Ogugua (Education).
Others include Clem Aguiyi (Environment), Afam Obidike (Health), Law Mefor (Information and Value Reformation), and Offornze Amucheazi (Lands).

In addition, several heads of agencies were also inaugurated, including Emeka Okonkwo (Managing Director, Anambra Road Traffic Agency – ARTMA), Ossy Onuko (Managing Director, Awka Capital Territory Development Authority – ACTDA), Fred Agbata (MD/CEO, ICT Agency), and Obi Okonkwo (Managing Director, Bureau of Public Procurement).
