Vice President Kashim Shettima says the Federal Government remains committed to the full implementation of Nigeria’s national space policy and programme.
Shettima, who chaired the first meeting of the National Space Council at the Presidential Villa, Abuja, on behalf of President Bola Tinubu, reaffirmed the administration’s resolve to realise the objectives contained in the revised 25-year roadmap for space development.
Delivering the President’s remarks, the Vice President disclosed that the President had directed the immediate release of approved funds for the maintenance of Nigeria’s space assets.
He also announced the President’s approval for the transmission of the cost framework for implementing the revised 25-year roadmap to the Federal Executive Council for consideration and ratification.
Shettima said the move underscores the administration’s determination to strengthen Nigeria’s space capabilities and ensure sustainable development of the sector.
