Marafa, who you might remember as the Zamfara State campaign coordinator for Tinubu/Shettima back in the 2023 general elections, got the nod through consensus. Basically, he was the only aspirant gunning for the party’s ticket, so it was a smooth ride.

The party’s election committee chairman, Aminu Jelani, made it official at a gathering in Gusau, the state capital. No drama, no last-minute challengers — just Marafa stepping up.

After clinching the ticket, Marafa didn’t waste time. He thanked party members for trusting him and got straight to the point: corruption is Zamfara’s biggest headache. His promise? A government big on transparency, accountability, and making sure public money actually works for the public.

But that’s not all. The former lawmaker also laid out plans to beef up security, tighten up governance, look after the welfare of Zamfarans, and make sure wealth is shared fairly — no playing favourites.

And the NDC isn’t stopping there. The party also rolled out candidates for all 34 electable positions across the state. Looks like they’re going all in.
