Borno Central Senator Kaka Shehu Lawan has shared over ₦135 million with APC executives across his constituency as part of preparations for the Eid-el-Kabir celebration.
According to cbinews.tv, the Senator representing Borno Central, Kaka Shehu Lawan, has disbursed a total of ₦135,650,000 to executives of the All Progressives Congress (APC) across his constituency ahead of the Eid-el-Kabir festivities.
The development was disclosed in a statement shared on Friday by the senator’s legislative assistant, Usman Alkali, through a post on Facebook.
The statement, originally written in Hausa and translated by our correspondent, revealed that the financial support was distributed on Thursday to party executives within Borno Central to assist them in celebrating the upcoming Sallah season.
“Senator Kaka Shehu Lawan shares ₦135,650,000 to APC executives in Borno Central for Eid al-Kabir celebration,” the post stated.
Alkali explained that the gesture marks the third time Senator Lawan has extended such support since becoming a member of the National Assembly.
“Senator representing Borno Central, Senator Kaka Shehu Lawan (SAN), on Thursday distributed cash to APC executives in his Borno Central constituency, totalling ₦135,650,000 to help them celebrate the upcoming Eid-Kabir festival,” he said.
He added that the senator’s intervention was aimed at appreciating party executives for their loyalty, dedication, and contributions toward strengthening democratic values and sustaining the APC structure in the state.
Meanwhile, Senator Lawan recently stepped down from the Borno State governorship race and endorsed Mustapha Gubio, the candidate reportedly backed by Governor Babagana Umara Zulum.
According to Alkali, the decision followed a stakeholders’ meeting held in Abuja, where party leaders agreed that Lawan should continue representing Borno Central in the Senate while supporting Gubio’s governorship ambition.
