Two deaths were recorded as Russia airstrikes hit Ukraine overnight.
Russian air strikes killed two people in Ukraine overnight, Ukrainian officials reported on Tuesday, while Russia’s defense ministry said several Ukrainian drones targeted Moscow.
CBI News reports that the attacks occurred as Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky prepared to meet U.S. President Donald Trump in New York, with Trump expressing growing frustration over Russia’s ongoing invasion.
Kyiv’s air force reported that Russia launched three missiles and 115 drones during the latest barrage.
Most drones were intercepted by air defenses, but one civilian was killed in the southern Zaporizhzhia region and another in the coastal Odesa area.
Prime Minister Yulia Svyrydenko condemned the attacks on civilians and called on international allies to provide more air defense systems.
Meanwhile, Ukraine has intensified retaliatory long-range drone strikes on Russia.
The Russian defense ministry claimed it destroyed 69 Ukrainian drones over its territory without sustaining damage. Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin noted that over a dozen drones targeted the capital.
