The Adamawa state government has relxed the night-time restriction on commercial tricycles for ease of movement during the Ramadan period.
Adamawa state governor, Ahmadu Fintiri, has approved a temporary review of the night-time restriction on commercial tricycles, popularly known as Keke NAPEP, across parts of the state for the 2026 Ramadan period.
In a statement issued by his Chief Press Secretary, Humwashi Wonosikou, the government said the restriction, previously enforced from 10pm to 5am, will now run from 11pm to 5am throughout Ramadan. The directive takes immediate effect.
The adjustment is intended to ease movement for Muslim faithful attending late-night Tafsir sessions during the holy month.
The statement recalled that the restriction was originally introduced in February 2021 under the Adamawa State Restriction of Movement of Tricycles/Motorcycles Executive Order No. 1 of 2021 to strengthen public safety and security.
According to the government, the latest review reflects efforts to balance religious observance with the need to sustain peace and security across the state.
Fintiri also directed security agencies to intensify patrols in affected areas, particularly Yola North, Yola South and Girei Local Government Areas, through the deployment of additional personnel to safeguard lives and property.
CBI News reports that he warned that any violation of the revised order would attract decisive action and urged residents to remain law-abiding during the Ramadan period.
