Russia and China are set for high-level talks that could touch on US President Donald Trump’s recent engagement with Beijing, as global power dynamics continue to shift.
According to cbinews.tv, the Kremlin has revealed that Russian President Vladimir Putin is expected to discuss US President Donald Trump’s recent visit to China during his upcoming trip to Beijing.
Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov told reporters on Friday that while the exact date of Putin’s visit hasn’t been announced yet, it will provide a key opportunity for both leaders to exchange views on recent US-China engagements.
Peskov noted that any direct talks between Washington and Beijing at the highest level naturally attract global attention, adding that such developments are closely analyzed by Russia as well.
In a subtle remark highlighting global economic power shifts, Peskov also pointed out that while the United States leads in absolute terms, China now ranks first when measured by purchasing power parity.
Beyond diplomacy, the Russia-China partnership remains strategically important. China continues to be Russia’s top ally, supplying critical electronic components for its defense sector and serving as its largest buyer of oil — a vital economic lifeline for Moscow amid ongoing sanctions and the war in Ukraine.
