Paris Saint-Germain has done it again. The French giants sealed their fifth straight Ligue 1 crown after beating Lens 2-0, extending their dominance in French football and keeping alive hopes of another historic European triumph.
According to cbinews.tv, Paris Saint-Germain have officially clinched their fifth consecutive Ligue 1 title after a convincing 2-0 win over RC Lens on Wednesday night.
The breakthrough came just before halftime when Georgian winger Khvicha Kvaratskhelia fired home his 19th goal of the season, giving PSG control of the title-deciding clash. Substitute Ibrahim Mbaye later added a second goal to seal the victory and confirm the Parisians as champions once again.
With one game left in the season, PSG now hold an unassailable nine-point lead at the top of the table under manager Luis Enrique.
The title marks PSG’s 14th French league crown overall, with an incredible 12 of those titles coming in the last 14 years since the club’s transformation under Qatari ownership.
PSG’s trophy cabinet keeps growing this season after already lifting the UEFA Super Cup, FIFA Intercontinental Cup and French Champions Trophy. And there could still be more silverware on the horizon as the reigning European champions prepare to face Arsenal FC in the UEFA Champions League final in Budapest on May 30.
Meanwhile, Lens may have lost the title race, but they still have plenty to celebrate. The club has secured second place and a return to the Champions League group stage for the first time since the 2023/24 season. They will also face OGC Nice in the French Cup final later this month.
