PSG coach backs team to retain champions league title...
Coach of Paris Saint-Germain, Luis Enrique, has expressed confidence in his team’s form ahead of their UEFA Champions League semi-final first leg against Bayern Munich.
CBI News reports that the highly anticipated clash will take place at the Parc des Princes.
Speaking before the encounter, Enrique described both sides as Europe’s top teams but insisted PSG are among the very best.
“These are the two best teams in Europe, even if Arsenal have also had a great season,” he said.
“In terms of consistency, maybe Bayern are a little bit above us. But we have shown that no team is better than us.”
The French champions head into the tie aiming to defend their UEFA Champions League title after winning it for the first time last season.
PSG have now reached the semi-finals for a third consecutive year under Enrique and are determined to go all the way again.
“It is a real pleasure and it is deserved. You need to be ambitious to get to this stage and I think we are. We still want to go that bit further,” he added.
PSG booked their place in the last four with impressive victories over Chelsea and Liverpool in earlier rounds.
Recent encounters between PSG and Bayern suggest a closely contested tie.
The German side edged a 1-0 win at home in November 2024, while PSG responded with a 2-0 victory in the Club World Cup quarter-final in July 2025.
Bayern later secured a 2-1 win in Paris during another league phase meeting.
PSG have also been boosted by the return of midfielder Vitinha, who resumed training after missing the last two matches.
Enrique confirmed the squad’s readiness following their 3-0 Ligue 1 win over Angers, which also saw Fabián Ruiz make his first start in three months.
“Everyone is ready,” the coach said.
