In a strategic diplomatic push to reposition Nigeria’s economy, Bola Tinubu has embarked on a high-level three-nation tour aimed at attracting investment and strengthening global alliances.
President Bola Tinubu has departed Nigeria for France, kicking off a three-nation official visit that will also take him to Kenya and Rwanda.
CBI News notes that the presidential aircraft departed from the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport in Abuja on Sunday, marking the beginning of a diplomatic mission focused on strengthening economic partnerships and attracting foreign investment.
According to the presidency, Tinubu’s first stop is France before heading to Nairobi, where he will participate in the Africa–France Summit scheduled for May 11–12.
The summit will be co-chaired by Emmanuel Macron and William Ruto, with discussions expected to centre on energy transition, climate action, digital transformation, and economic cooperation.
During the event, Tinubu is expected to engage with global leaders and investors as part of efforts to deepen Nigeria’s international economic ties.
Following the summit, the president will proceed to Kigali, Rwanda, to attend the Africa CEO Forum from May 14–15, where top business leaders and policymakers will explore investment opportunities and strategies for driving economic growth across the continent.
The presidency noted that the visit highlights Nigeria’s commitment to leveraging high-level diplomatic engagements to boost economic development and expand its global partnerships.
