A dramatic police operation has ended in success as officers rescued the younger sister of former Power Minister Adebayo Adelabu and her twin sons alive after a deadly confrontation with suspected kidnappers.
According to reports monitored by cbinewstv, operatives of the Nigeria Police Force have successfully rescued Mrs Olaide Busayo Adegoke John-Paul and her 12-year-old twin sons, Peter and Paul, during a late-night operation carried out at about 7:30 p.m. on Saturday, 6 June 2026.
The rescue followed a fierce gun battle between police operatives and suspected kidnappers. Two members of the kidnapping gang were reportedly killed during the exchange, while officers recovered two firearms from the scene.
Mrs John-Paul, who is the younger sister of former Minister of Power, Adebayo Adelabu, and her sons were abducted around 7:30 a.m. on 3 June while travelling to drop the children off at school.
Police sources revealed that intensive intelligence gathering, tracking efforts and sustained tactical pressure forced the kidnappers into a confrontation with security operatives, ultimately leading to the successful rescue of all three victims.
Authorities have confirmed that security personnel are still combing surrounding areas in search of other members of the kidnapping syndicate. Some of the suspects are believed to have escaped with gunshot wounds during the operation.
