The government said the operation marked progress in the dismantle Marset's network in the South American country..
Bolivian authorities on Friday March 20, 2026 presented a group of alleged collaborators of Uruguayan drug trafficker Sebastian Marset, after their arrest in a police operation.
Footage filmed on 19 and 20 March 2026 showed Bolivian police officers in an operation that captured at least 15 individuals reportedly linked to the Marset clan.
The officers also seized tactical uniforms, cash and mobile phones.
"It is important to inform the general public and Bolivia that, following the arrest of five Colombian nationals and two Ecuadorians, intelligence personnel have managed to obtain important information about a location, based on the analysis of calls and also some photographs," David Valenzuela, Inspector General of the Bolivian Police, announced.
"We have information that there may be four more foreign individuals, all of them foreigners. They were responsible for the security of this perimeter that has been found at this location," he added.
According to authorities, the operation identified a hangar with a clandestine runway and a storage facility with a capacity which held up to three tonnes of drugs.
"We managed to enter a hangar. A hangar that included a runway. (…) A drug storage facility measuring two and a half metres wide by at least six metres long and a depth of two metres. This suggests that approximately three tonnes of drugs could be stored at this site," said Valenzuela.
Vice Minister of Social Defence, Ernesto Justiniano, said the results were a blow to different areas of the organisation, from logistics to support networks. "We are dismantling the structure of Sebastian Marset here in Bolivia (…) in terms of infrastructure and communication," he said, adding that authorities are also tracking financial resources and assets linked to the group.
Sebastian Marset, considered one of the most wanted drug traffickers in the region, remained at large, while several countries continued operations which dismantled his criminal network
