Police Arrest 10 Suspects in Kebbi

The Police say they are intensifying the crackdown after the killing and abduction in Badariya.
The Kebbi State Police Command says the tragic incident that occurred on 13th March in Badariya Area of Birnin Kebbi, Kebbi State Nigeria, resulted in the death of a man, Sufiyanu Garba and the abduction of his wife Zainab.
Reports have it that the abducted victim, Zainab Mohammad, has been safely reunited with her family.
CBI News reports that the Police have also arrested some suspects in connection with the crime.
Those arrested include: Zakariya Abubakar Diggi, Joseph Dahali Wanda, Sanda Alhaji, Mamman Abubakar Manu, Aisha Manu, Saudatu Abubakar, Abubakar Muhammad, Betuwa Muhammad, Abdullahi Umaru, and Ja’I Garba.
Preliminary investigation revealed that Zakariya Abubakar Diggi and Joseph Dahali Wanda are SIM registration agents who specialised in the fraudulent registration of SIM cards using proxy subscriber information, which were subsequently used by the kidnappers for ransom negotiation.
CBI News noted that other suspects are being investigated for their involvement in the crime, while efforts are ongoing to apprehend additional suspects currently at large.
The State Commissioner of Police, Umar Hadejia, commends the professionalism and dedication of the operatives and assures members of the public that the case will be charged to court upon conclusion of the investigation.
