Onyedika looks set to join Victor Osimhen at Galatasaray after agreeing personal terms with the Turkish club.
Club Brugge midfielder Raphael Onyedika is on the verge of a switch to Galatasaray after agreeing personal terms with the Turkish champions, according to reports.
Turkish outlet Fanatik claimed the 24-year-old Nigerian has “given the green light” to the move, paving the way for negotiations between Brugge and Galatasaray.
CBI News reports that Galatasaray are understood to have proposed a loan deal worth €5 million with a mandatory €15 million purchase clause, taking the package to €20 million.
However, Brugge are holding out for €25 million before sanctioning the midfielder’s departure.
“Onyedika accepted Galatasaray’s offer, and the management has started transfer negotiations with the Belgian team. Cim Bom has activated a loan formula with a mandatory purchase option for the star player,” Fanatik reported.
Onyedika, who joined Brugge in 2022, has also been tracked by West Ham United, who reportedly see him as a potential replacement for Edson Álvarez.
But with Galatasaray making midfield reinforcements a priority after their failed pursuit of Tottenham’s Yves Bissouma, the Nigerian has risen to the top of their shortlist.
The Belgian giants are already battling to retain other key players.
Joel Ordoñez is pushing for a move to Marseille.
Forward Christos Tzolis was the subject of a €32 million bid from Crystal Palace, which was rejected earlier this month.
A breakthrough in talks is expected in the coming days, with Onyedika reportedly keen on the transfer.
Should the deal go through, he would join his compatriot Victor Osimhen, who completed a high-profile move to Galatasaray earlier this summer.
