Onuachu rejects lucrative Saudi club offer, chooses to remain with Trabzonspor...
Nigeria striker Paul Onuachu has turned down a lucrative offer from a Saudi club, opting to remain with Trabzonspor despite growing transfer interest.
The 31-year-old, who joined Trabzonspor from Southampton last summer, has enjoyed an outstanding season in Turkey, scoring 23 goals in 27 appearances and emerging as one of Europe’s most in-demand forwards.
CBI News reports that Onuachu, who helped Nigeria secure third place at the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations, went on a remarkable 10-game scoring streak before it ended against Eyüpspor last week.
According to NTV Spor, the Saudi club proposed a salary four times higher than his current earnings, but Onuachu declined the offer.
Trabzonspor has also confirmed that the striker is not for sale, citing his contract running until 2028 with a one-year option.
“Trabzonspor has decided not to sell Onuachu despite interest from Europe. With a contract running until 2028, plus a one-year option, Trabzonspor will retain the striker, effectively closing the transfer chapter on him,” NTV Spor reported.
Interest from Europe and Asia remains strong, with Juventus, Stade Rennais, and Al Ahli reportedly monitoring the striker’s situation.
