Ondo State has a new Commissioner of Police, and CP Felix Ohagwu says tackling crime, strengthening intelligence gathering and protecting residents will remain top priorities under his leadership.
According to cbinews.tv, the Ondo State Police Command has officially welcomed CP Felix Ohagwu as the 47th Commissioner of Police in the state.
The announcement was made on Tuesday in Akure through a statement issued by the command’s spokesperson, DSP Abayomi Jimoh.
Ohagwu takes over from former CP Adebowale Lawal following a recent redeployment approved by the Inspector-General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun. The reshuffle, according to the police, is part of ongoing efforts to strengthen internal security and improve policing nationwide.
The new police boss is described as a highly experienced officer with more than three decades of service in crime prevention, intelligence-led policing, operational coordination and public safety management.
The command also highlighted his track record of professionalism, discipline and strong leadership across various operational and administrative roles nationwide.
Speaking after assuming office, CP Ohagwu assured residents that the command under his watch would focus on proactive policing, stronger intelligence gathering, community engagement and improved collaboration with other security agencies.
He also urged residents to continue supporting the police with timely and credible information that could help prevent crime and improve public safety across Ondo State.
