Well, this just dropped — and it’s a big one for Delta politics.
According to cbinews.tv, former Deputy Senate President Ovie Omo-Agege has officially called it quits with the APC, and he’s not mincing his words about why.
In a letter dated 22 May 2026 to the Orogun Ward 2 Chairman in Ughelli North LGA, Delta State, Omo-Agege said he’d taken a hard look at what’s been happening inside the ruling party. After chatting with his associates and supporters, his conclusion was pretty clear: his goals — and the interests of his constituents — just aren’t being served there anymore.
His exact words? “I will not remain a sitting duck in a party where I cannot advance the interests of Delta Central, Delta State and Nigeria.” Can’t get much more direct than that.
He did thank the APC for the chance to serve as Deputy President of the 9th Senate, but he’s asked for his name to be scrubbed from *all* party records, registers and communication lists. Effective immediately.
Speaking through his media adviser, Sunny Areh, Omo-Agege stressed that he’s still 100% focused on bringing development and proper representation to Delta Central, Delta State, and Nigeria as a whole. He just plans to chase those goals from outside the APC now.
