From Abakaliki to China and back — Governor Francis Nwifuru says Ebonyi is safe, viable, and very much open for business.
If you’ve been wondering where the next big investment hub in the South-East is, Governor Francis Nwifuru says look no further than Ebonyi.
The Governor made this known on Sunday at the Government House Chapel in Abakaliki while briefing the congregation on his nine-day working visit to China.
According to cbinews.tv, Nwifuru described the trip as “very fruitful”, revealing that his delegation held high-level, productive meetings with strategic investors and top government officials in the Chinese provinces of Hunan and Jiangsu.
He said the reception was warm and the interest was real, with Chinese business and government leaders keen to invest in Ebonyi to fast-track infrastructure and economic growth.
“It was by the grace of God that we were able to achieve so much during the tour. We were warmly received by the provincial governments of Hunan and Jiangsu,” the Governor was quoted as saying by cbinews.tv.
The Governor also used the opportunity to thank Ebonyians for their support and prayers over the last three years, attributing the administration’s progress to divine grace and solid teamwork with stakeholders.
“We are not perfect, but we pray for more grace to keep pushing in the best interest of our state,” he said. “It is God’s grace that has protected and guided us. With your prayers and practical support, we have made tangible progress.”
And on the political rumours flying around ahead of 2027? Nwifuru says there’s no need to worry. Governance, he assured, is firmly on track till 2031.
“The wheel of governance is running smoothly till 2031. Let us not worry unnecessarily; let us continue to trust in God.”
