Delta NSCDC positions officers across strategic locations to protect lives, property, and critical infrastructure during festive celebrations.
The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) in Delta State say it has deployed 1,070 personnel to ensure a peaceful Eid-el-Fitr celebration.
State Commandant Chinedu Igbo disclosed the deployment in a statement by the command’s spokesperson, Anthony Uchenna. According to the statement, officers have been assigned to strategic locations to safeguard critical national assets and infrastructure across the state.
Igbo instructed Area Commanders to coordinate security in their regions, while Divisional Officers were directed to deploy personnel to recreational centres and other high-traffic areas.
He also urged Component Commanders and Special Forces to collaborate with other security agencies to maintain safety and peace during the festive period.
CBI News reports that he advised residents to celebrate without fear, assuring that the corps, in partnership with other agencies, would provide comprehensive protection for lives and property before, during, and after the celebrations.
“The command will leave no stone unturned to apprehend miscreants and criminal elements until a safe Delta is achieved,” Igbo said.
He emphasised the corps’ commitment to a secure festive period.
