NPFL to Honour Anas Yusuf, Ogunmodede

NPFL reaffirms commitment to excellence with awards.

The Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) will on Tuesday, September 2, honour Nasarawa United striker Anas Yusuf and Remo Stars coach Daniel Ogunmodede for their standout performances in the 2024/25 season.

CBI News reports that NPFL Chairman, Hon. Gbenga Elegbeleye, confirmed the recognition, explaining that the ceremony had been delayed due to the pair’s involvement with the Super Eagles B team during preparations and participation at the African Nations Championship (CHAN).

Elegbeleye said the awards reflect the league’s commitment to promoting excellence.

“It has been our policy to encourage players, coaches, and clubs to elevate the quality of league football through outstanding performances. We have consistently rewarded our best clubs, highest goal scorers, and best-performing coaches in conjunction with our investment partner, GTI Assets Management,” he stated.

Yusuf finished the season as top scorer with 17 goals, while Ogunmodede guided Remo Stars to their first-ever league title a historic achievement for the club.

Each award recipient will receive ₦1.5 million and a commemorative plaque, according to Elegbeleye, a former Vice Chairman of the House of Representatives Committee on Sports.
