Rangers International FC, on Sunday defeated visiting Nassarawa United FC of Lafia 2-0 to climb to the top of the Nigeria Premier Football League in the week 28 of the 2025/26 season.
The match played at the Nnamdi Azikiwe Stadium saw Godwin Obaje, put Rangers ahead before Chidiebere Nwobodo doubled the home team’s lead before the half time.
The Coach of Nassarwa, Mangut Mpwas, blamed missing chances for their goalless outing.
“We played well but missed many yawning chances. That is football,” he said.
The Coach of Rangers, Fidelis Illechukwu, praised his men for scoring in the game to secure victory.
