It’s a sombre farewell for Nollywood as the Ekubo family prepares to lay beloved actor Alexx Ekubo to rest next month.
According to cbinewstv, the family of late Nollywood actor Alexx Ekubo has confirmed that his funeral rites will conclude on June 18, 2026, in Abia State.
Alexx Ekubo sadly passed away on May 11 after a battle with kidney cancer. In a statement shared via his official Instagram page on Monday, the family asked the public to keep the actor, his wife, and loved ones in their prayers during this incredibly difficult time.
Here’s how the funeral arrangements will unfold:
Service of Songs: This will take place on Wednesday, June 10, 2026, at The Monarch Event Centre, Lekki, Lagos. The service runs from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., and guests are kindly asked to wear white.
Wake Keep: Scheduled for Wednesday, June 17, 2026, at 7 Ekubo-Okwaraeke Avenue, Aziukwukwa, Ujari Village, Arochukwu, Abia State.
Funeral Service & Interment: Both will hold on Thursday, June 18, 2026. The service is set for Mary Slessor School, with interment following at the family residence at 7 Ekubo-Okwaraeke Avenue, Aziukwukwa, Ujari Village, Arochukwu.
Reception: Immediately after the interment, a reception will be held at Mary Slessor School, Amanagwu Village, Arochukwu. Attendees are again expected to wear white.
