Iwobi reportedly robbed at knifepoint, with valuables worth about £500,000 stolen...
Alex Iwobi has reportedly been left shaken after a burglary at his home, with valuables estimated at £500,000 stolen.
According to reports, the Fulham midfielder was held at knifepoint when attackers forced their way into his residence.
CBI News reports that the intruders allegedly made away with luxury wristwatches, jewellery, two iPhones, and a MacBook.
Iwobi is also said to have had about £200,000 in cash at the time, which was reportedly taken during the incident.
Authorities have since launched an investigation into the robbery.
The incident occurred just days after the 29-year-old featured in Fulham’s 3-1 Premier League victory over Burnley.
Despite the traumatic experience, Iwobi has continued to receive recognition for his contributions off the pitch.
He was recently named in the Football Black List 2025 under the “Players Off the Pitch” category.
He was listed alongside fellow footballers Eberechi Eze and Jess Carter, in recognition of their impact beyond the game.
Iwobi earned his place on the list for launching Project 17 in 2021, an initiative aimed at supporting underserved Black youth through football clinics, mentorship, education programmes, and the annual P17 Cup.
His efforts have also been recognised with the Baobab Award in Sport, celebrating his positive influence on young people in Nigeria and beyond.
Other honourees on the 2025 list include Naomi Bedeau and Shakira Waithe.
Reacting to the recognition, the Super Eagles praised the midfielder on social media, stating: “We are proud of you, Alex @alexiwobi.”
