Nigerians react as U.S. Embassy issues alert on terror attack on U.S facilities...
Residents in Nigeria's Abuja hit back after the US Embassy issued a security alert warning of a possible terrorist threat targeting American facilities and affiliated schools in the country.
"As an American citizen in Nigeria, my advice to them is that I think they should go back to their country so that it will not cause a religious fight in Nigeria," resident Elizabeth Onah said.
"I feel they should go for now. At least that will keep them safe because I don’t think Nigeria is going to help in anything if anything happens," Jane Igwe added.
Other residents questioned the likelihood of attacks on American interests in Nigeria.
"Nigerians have not come out to say we are supporting America or against Iran," local Peter Oluwaseun said. "So the Iranians will not come here to attack anybody or any American citizen, because if such a thing happened, it might lead to religious fights in Nigeria."
The US Embassy in Abuja issued a security alert on March 9, warning American citizens in Nigeria of a possible terrorist threat targeting US facilities and schools affiliated with the United States.
