The 32-nominee list was released on Saturday November 30, by the presidency.

Reactions have continued to pour in following the release of the new ambassadorial nominees by the Presidency.

While some Nigerians have applauded the move, describing it as a welcome wake-up call from the Tinubu administration, others have criticised the list as shambolic, citing concerns over the profiles of certain nominees.

Prominent among the names generating the most public debate are the immediate past Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission, the former Aviation Minister Femi Fani-Kayode, and former Presidential Spokesman Reno Omokri.

A resident of Abuja, Mathew Dennis, voiced his displeasure, condemning some of the nominations and referencing past issues reportedly involving the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission.

Other Nigerians, however, commended the nominations and expressed optimism in the nominees’ capacity to deliver.

They believe the individuals selected will represent Nigeria well when deployed to their various embassies and high commissions.

The nominees include 17 non-career ambassadors and 15 career ambassadors, who will be posted to countries and international organisations critical to Nigeria’s foreign relations.
