Nigeria’s Inspector-General of Police, Olatunji Disu, has appointed Chief Superintendent of Police Ali Giwa as head of the Nigeria Police Force’s new media unit.
This is said to be part of efforts to better educate Nigerians on police activities across social media platforms.
Disu said the move was aimed at strengthening communication between the police and the public, while providing a platform for citizens to express concerns and receive information about law enforcement operations.
Giwa has been tasked with leading the initiative to improve engagement and transparency.
